Changing your pet in Stardew Valley isn't something you can do in the middle of a game. When you start a new farm, you get the choice between a cat or a dog. Once you make your pick, you're stuck with that furry friend for the rest of your game. So, choose wisely or be prepared to start over if you really want to switch!

Actually, there's a way, but it's not in the official gameplay. If you're comfortable tweaking game files and know your way around them, you can change your pet. There are guides online that walk you through how to edit your save file to switch from dog to cat or vice versa. Just make sure to back up your save file before you start playing doctor Frankenstein with it!

Nope. Once you pick your pet, it's for life. Consider it Stardew Valley's way of teaching commitment.

If you're a Stardew Valley player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

That includes gift cards from all of your favorite gaming platforms, like PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam and more... which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
