Scout your enemy first! Knowing what traps they have will help you send the right counters. Typically, more siege units = fewer headaches.
I've had luck using low-tier troops as cannon fodder to trigger and destroy traps before sending in my main army. Sacrifice a few, save the many!
Just overwhelm them with sheer numbers. Sometimes brute force is the simplest strategy!
