You can't change your character's appearance in-game right off the bat. However, once you're good friends with the Wizard (4 hearts to be exact), he'll give you access to his basement. This is where the Shrine of Illusions is, and for 500G, you can change your appearance as much as you like!

Different take here, but honestly, choose carefully at the start because farming those hearts with the Wizard can take a bit of time. Plus, 500G can be spent on seeds early in the game for a better return. Think of it as Stardew's gentle nudge to make thoughtful choices.

Pro tip: If you're playing on PC and don't mind a little tech adventure, you can edit your character by tweaking the game files. Just be sure to backup your save file first! Not the official route, but it's a workaround if you're impatient like me and don't want to wait to befriend the Wizard.

If you're a Stardew Valley player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

That includes gift cards from all of your favorite gaming platforms, like PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam and more... which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
