Sail around the ocean biome and look for islands with barnacles. When you see barnacles, it's a leviathan! Be quick though, they disappear!

I've had the best luck finding Leviathans by sailing in the northern parts of the ocean. Just keep an eye out for small, solitary islands.

Leviathans are pretty much floating islands in the ocean. Just hop on a boat and keep exploring until you find one.
