Finding ladders in Stardew Valley is like playing hide and seek with a twist. They typically appear when you've cleared out all the monsters on a level, or after you’ve smashed enough rocks. Sometimes, it feels like the game's messing with you, making you work for that sweet, sweet downward progression. Pro tip: keep an eye out for rocks that look slightly different; they've got a higher chance of dropping a ladder.

Just hit rocks. Ladders will show up. Keep it simple.

Honestly, finding ladders is sometimes about luck, but mostly about persistence. One time, I cleared nearly all the rocks and was about to give up, then the last rock I hit popped out a ladder. The moral of the story? Never give up on smashing those rocks!

Ladders in the mines are shy creatures. They only appear once you've eliminated enemies or broken enough rocks. And by 'enough,' the game decides on a whim. So, get swinging and bring some snacks; it could take a while.

Quick tip: the more rocks you smash, the higher your odds. Don't get too strategic, just get to smashing.
