Age settings might be messing with your chat. Make sure your birthdate in the game is set to 18+ if you're old enough.

If you set your age under 18 when you first started the game, you're stuck with Quick Chat. Time to make a new account!

Make sure you're not on 'Quick Chat Only' mode! Go to Settings -> Data and switch to Free Chat.
