Actually, I think using custom songs is what makes GD levels unique. Been making levels with my fav tracks for ages, and it's super simple. Log into Newgrounds through GD and pick your jam!
You can only use songs from Newgrounds for your custom Geometry Dash levels. So, make sure the track you want has a 'Allowed to use' licence on Newgrounds, then simply link it in your level editor. Easy peasy!
