To get the Dark Talisman quest in Stardew Valley, you need to first complete the Community Center bundles, OR go the JojaMart route and purchase a membership, completing the warehouse upgrades. After that, head over to the Railroad where a cutscene with the Wizard will initiate the quest. He'll ask for your help to retrieve the Dark Talisman from the Mutant Bug Lair.
