To get your hands on some hardwood in Stardew Valley, you wanna take your axe and start chopping at the large stumps and logs you find around your farm or in the Secret Woods. Just make sure you've upgraded your axe enough, because those regular old tools won't even scratch 'em!

Actually, you can also get hardwood from the chests in the mines or by breaking barrels and boxes in there. So, don't just stick to chopping! The mines offer a good haul sometimes too.

Upgrade your axe! You can't get hardwood with the basic axe. Once you've upgraded, hit up the large stumps and logs on your farm or the Secret Woods. It's the only way.
