Actually, you don't need to stress much about the rod or your skill level. I caught my first legendary fish with a Fiberglass Rod and my skill wasn't even maxed out. Just make sure you're in the right place at the right time and keep trying. The struggle is real, but so is the satisfaction when you finally see that 'Legendary Fish' pop up on your screen.
