Mud isn't actually an item you can get in Stardew Valley. If you're looking for something similar for crafting or another purpose, you might be thinking of Clay. You can find Clay by digging up soil with your hoe on the farm or in the mines. Keep an eye out for little worms sticking out of the ground too, those spots often yield Clay!
