Easy fix: Just build a dock or a little harbor with wood piles and stone walls to secure it in place. Your boat won't drift off even in a storm!

I always use the workbench trick: Place a workbench nearby, then destroy some land to make a small pit. Park the boat in it. It's Viking engineering!
