First, get yourself a hoe. Open the crafting menu with right-click, select 'Level Ground', and then start clicking on the area you want to level. You'll need some stone in your inventory, too.

You gotta use the hoe! Equip it, right-click to open the menu, select 'Level Ground', and start flattening away. Easy peasy!

I’ve leveled plenty of land in Valheim, and the trick is to have some stone in your inventory while using the hoe. Right-click to select 'Level Ground' and keep adjusting till it's perfect. Happy building!
