I use a bot for that. Mee6 or Dyno can set up a verification system for you. Just configure it to assign a role when someone reacts to a specific message in the verify channel.
Honestly, just make a channel, tell people to type '!verify', and set a bot to assign them a 'Verified' role when they do. Simple and done!
