For a simple yet delicious Indian rice, rinse basmati rice until water runs clear, then soak it for 30 minutes. In a pot, add ghee or oil, cumin seeds, and bay leaves, then add the soaked rice, water (1.5x the rice volume), and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 15-20 minutes until fluffy!
