Alright, future iron mogul! First, you'll need to defeat the Elder boss to get the Swamp Key. Use the key to unlock Sunken Crypts in the swamp biome, where you'll mine muddy scrap piles to get scrap iron. Finally, smelt the scrap iron in a smelter to get that sweet iron.
Just whack a few muddy scrap piles in the swamp after unlocking the crypts with the Swamp Key. Then smelt the scrap!
Really simple: kill Elder, get Swamp Key, enter crypts, mine scrap iron, smelt. Easy peasy!
