Just crafted my first sign yesterday! Equip your hammer, press F to open the build menu, navigate to furniture, and there you’ll find the sign. Place it and write your heart out!

A bit of a hot take here, but signs are mostly decorative. Just remember: hammer + F menu + furniture tab = signs.
Easy peasy! Just craft a hammer, open the build menu (press F), go to the furniture tab, and select the sign. Place it, then write whatever floats your Viking boat!
