You can't just move chests willy-nilly in Stardew Valley mobile; they gotta be empty first. Clear it out, long press to lift, and boom, redecorate to your heart's content.

First up, to move a chest in Stardew Valley on mobile, you gotta empty that chest first. Can't move it if it's got stuff in it. After it’s empty, just tap and hold on the chest, and you'll pick it up, then you can place it wherever you want. Simple as pie!
