Getting Hardwood in Stardew Valley is pretty straightforward! You chop down the large stumps and the big logs you see around your farm and in the Secret Woods area. Each stump gives you 2 Hardwood, and the logs give you 8 Hardwood. Later on, you can also get it by using a Wood Chipper, which turns regular Wood into Hardwood.

Pro tip: If you're in dire need of Hardwood, make sure to visit the Secret Woods daily. This area regenerates large stumps every day, ensuring you a steady supply of Hardwood. It's like your own little Hardwood farm.

Not to be that guy, but honestly, getting Hardwood is a bit overrated. Stick to other resources until you REALLY need it. There's plenty to do without obsessing over Hardwood.

Firsthand experience here: I underestimated the importance of Hardwood early on, and it bit me later. Definitely make it part of your daily routine to gather it, especially from the Secret Woods. Makes life way easier when you're trying to craft important items or upgrade your house.
