First things first, ya gotta make sure everyone's game is updated to the same version. Then, one of you creates a co-op farm from the main menu. Choose the 'Host' option, and then 'Host New Farm' or 'Host Saved Farm'. Your buddies should select 'Co-op', 'Join LAN Game', and then voila, they should see your farm listed there. Join up, and start farming together!
Not gonna lie, playing Stardew Valley over LAN isn't as straightforward as hitting a single button, but it's not rocket science either. Make sure all players are on the same network. Host a game, then everyone else should see it under LAN. If not, check your firewall settings, could be blocking the connection.
LAN play? Just meet up on the same WiFi, host the game, and let your friends join. Also, remember to water your crops.
Stardew Valley LAN play isn't worth the hassle, just play online. Easier to setup and no network issues.
