To repair tools, you need to use a workbench. Interact with it and hit the repair button (it looks like a hammer). That's it!

I've been playing Valheim for months. Best way to repair tools is visiting your workbench and clicking the hammer symbol. Just make sure the workbench is upgraded if needed!
