To turn grass into hay in Stardew Valley, you'll need to build a Silo. Once you have a Silo, use your Scythe to cut grass on your farm. Automatically, the cut grass turns into hay and gets stored in the Silo. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

Just whack the tall grass with your Scythe, but make sure you've got a Silo. Otherwise, you're just cutting grass for fun, and no hay for your animals.

You can't turn grass into hay without a Silo. After building one, every swipe of your Scythe on grass potentially fills your Silo with hay. No Silo, no hay magic!
