Go to User Settings, click on Activity Privacy and disable Display Current Activity as a Status Message. Done!

Go to User Settings > Activity Privacy > turn off Display Current Activity as a Status Message. That should do the trick!

I turned mine off by going to User Settings, then Activity Privacy, and simply switched off Display Current Activity as a Status Message. Worked like a charm!
