To unlock the Scarecrow in Stardew Valley, you gotta level up your farming skill to level 1. Just keep working on your farm, like planting and harvesting crops, and soon enough, you'll level up. After hitting level 1, the game will give you the crafting recipe for a Scarecrow, which you can then use to keep those pesky crows away from your crops.

Pro tip: Don't wait too long to build your Scarecrow. I learned the hard way after crows ate half my crops. Right after you unlock it, craft it ASAP. You only need some wood, coal, and fiber. Super easy and totally saves your hard-earned crops from being snacked on by birds.

Honestly, Scarecrows are kinda overrated. Just plant more than you need and let nature do its thing. A few lost crops to crows adds to the charm.
