Unlocking the smelter in Valheim is easy! Just defeat the first boss, Eikthyr, grab some hard antlers, and craft a pickaxe. Use it to mine copper and tin, and get the smelter recipe when you pick up some Surtling Cores from the Burial Chambers in the Black Forest.

Yo, just smack Eikthyr, get his antlers, make a pickaxe, mine some tin and copper, then find some Surtling Cores in the Black Forest. Easy as pie!

First-hand experience here: Beat Eikthyr, craft the antler pickaxe, start mining copper and tin, then raid the Burial Chambers for those Surtling Cores. Once you collect them, the smelter recipe unlocks! Happy smelting, Viking!
