Honestly, just stick with the copper pickaxe for a while. Upgrading's expensive and takes time. Mine smarter, not harder. Use the elevators in the mine to skip levels you've already cleared.

To upgrade mining in Stardew Valley, you're gonna want to head over to the blacksmith. His shop is in the southeast corner of Pelican Town. You can upgrade your pickaxe there, which will let you mine faster and break tougher rocks. Just make sure you have enough gold and the required ore. The first upgrade needs copper, then steel, gold, and finally iridium. Don't forget, upgrading takes a couple days, so plan your mining adventures accordingly!
