Place a chopping block next to your workbench to start the upgrade process. More unique items will unlock higher levels!
You need additional crafting structures near your workbench. First, build a chopping block. Then, add a tanning rack, ads, and tool shelf for more levels!
I've upgraded mine by placing a tanning rack and ads near my workbench. Each adds a level!
Just build a chopping block next to the workbench. Simple as that, really.
