How to use bait in Stardew Valley
Not all rods are created equal! Make sure you're not trying to attach bait to that starter Bamboo Pole. Upgrade to a Fiberglass Rod or an Iridium Rod, then attaching bait is a breeze. Just grab the bait and apply it directly to the rod in your inventory. Happy fishing!

lol, it's easy. Just drag the bait to your rod in the inventory. But remember, you can't do that with the basic bamboo pole. Gotta upgrade your fishing game first!
Honestly, fishing with bait is overrated. Just enjoy the calm of fishing without it.
First, you gotta make sure you've got a fishing rod that can actually use bait – that's either the Fiberglass Rod or the Iridium Rod. Just open your inventory, pick up the bait (left-click or tap and hold, depending on what you're playing on), and then click on the rod. Bam! You're all set to catch some fish with your newly baited line.
