You can use proximity chat in Among Us by downloading the CrewLink mod. Just install it, launch the game through the mod, and you'll be able to hear other players when they're near you!
Honestly, the base game is great without mods. But if you insist, CrewLink is your best bet for proximity chat.
I tried CrewLink, it's a blast! You can actually hear all the screams and lies up close. Just follow the install guide, it's pretty straightforward.
