While it has Indian roots, Chicken Tikka Masala is actually considered more of a British invention. It was reportedly created to suit British tastes when Indian chefs added a tomato and cream sauce to traditional Indian chicken tikka.

Not really! Chicken Tikka Masala is to India what General Tso's Chicken is to China鈥攄elicious but more a product of cultural fusion.

Nope. Chicken Tikka Masala is a British take on an Indian dish, created to please local palates.

I've tried Chicken Tikka Masala in both India and the UK. While the Indian version is less common and less creamy, it鈥檚 a hit in Britain. But it鈥檚 not traditionally Indian.
