Before Blue Exorcist starts, the biggest thing is that Rin Okumura discovers he's the son of Satan. This revelation happens when demons attack him, leading to a life-changing journey to become an exorcist. Also, their adoptive father, Shiro Fujimoto, sacrifices himself to protect Rin, which motivates Rin to fight against demonic forces and enroll in True Cross Academy.

Rin鈥檚 life was relatively normal, filled with the usual teenage angst, until he learns about his demonic heritage and decides to battle the forces of evil.

The key event before Blue Exorcist is Rin Okumura finding out he's the spawn of Satan. He then sets off to become an exorcist. Simple as that!

Honestly, nothing happens that isn't standard pre-teen drama until Rin realizes he's Satan's kid. Then it gets wild fast!
