Pro tip: Gold and Iridium are keepers for tool upgrades and crafting. Almost everything else can be sold if you're not a hardcore collector or needing them for immediate crafting recipes.
Definitely sell the minerals you find in duplicate, especially ones that aren't needed for the Museum or aren't in high demand for quests and crafting.
