Sadly, in Stardew Valley, you can't sell old fishing rods, and they don't have any other use once you’ve upgraded. Your best bet? Treat them as sentimental keepsakes, or just store them away in a chest. Kinda like that drawer everyone has at home with random stuff, but virtual.

Hot take: Just chuck the old fishing rods into a random chest and forget about them. Out of sight, out of mind.

Actually, I tried something fun with an old fishing rod. I dedicated a room in my farmhouse as a 'trophy' room where I display old tools and weapons I've outgrown. It's like a mini museum of my progress in the game. Adds a nice touch of personal history to the farm!

If you're a Stardew Valley player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

That includes gift cards from all of your favorite gaming platforms, like PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam and more... which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
