Where Can You Catch Salmon in Stardew Valley?
You can catch salmon in the river running through Pelican Town and in the mountain lake. They're available in Fall, from 6am to 7pm. Make sure to bring your fishing rod and a good amount of patience, as it might take a few tries to reel them in!

Actually, I caught my first salmon by the bridge near the mines. It was a lucky day in Fall, around noon. I'd say stick to the rivers during Fall, but explore a bit; the game's full of surprises.
