Sunfish are a staple of the spring and summer seasons in Stardew Valley, just chilling in the rivers from 6 AM to 7 PM when the weather is nice and sunny. Grab your fishing rod and head to any river in Pelican Town or Cindersap Forest during those times. Good luck, and may your fishing tackle be ever sturdy!

Don't bother fishing for sunfish at night or in the winter, you won't find them. Sunny days by the river, folks! That's your ticket.

Just a short tip: Sunfish love sunny days! So, if it's raining, they won't show up. Stick to the rivers during spring and summer on clear days.

Honestly, I find sunfish way too common. Every other catch in spring/summer is a sunfish for me, especially in the river right next to Leah's cottage.
