From my experience, your best bet is to find an Abyssal Leviathan while sailing. Spot their barnacles and start mining, but be quick—they dive fast!

Go sail the oceans and look for giant sea turtles. They’re actually Leviathans covered in Abyssal Barnacles. Mine them for chitin before they dive!
