Dust Sprites are your best friends for coal farming. Trust me, spend some time on levels 40-79 of the mines, and you'll stockpile coal in no time. I did this for a few in-game days and never worried about coal again.

Just buy it from Clint. Seriously, saves so much time if you're not into grinding in the mines.

Coal can be found in several places in Stardew Valley! If you're breaking rocks on your farm or in the mines, you've got a chance to find some. Dust sprites in levels 40-79 of the mines drop coal frequently. Don't forget, you can also buy it from Clint, the blacksmith, or craft it using 10 pieces of wood at a Charcoal Kiln.
