Tekken got into the customization game first with Tekken 5 in 2004, while Virtua Fighter followed with Virtua Fighter 5 in 2006. Winner: Tekken!

Virtua Fighter might boast some slick moves, but Tekken was the first to let you dress up your fighter with customization options in Tekken 5.

From what I remember, I was pimping out my Tekken characters way before Virtua Fighter even thought about it. Tekken 5 FTW!

Virtua Fighter was late to the party; Tekken 5 had customization before VF5. Tekken for the win!
