Oh man, I've played The Quarry like five times and trust me, it can be different characters depending on your choices. But mostly, I've seen Jacob and Max take a dive for the worse.
Quick and simple: Max. If he didn't make it out of the water, you know where he ended up.
Jacob died in the pool if you don't make the right choices. *Spoilers ahead!* There's a scene where he gets seriously injured and it can get pretty gruesome.
