In my view, Lincoln was a good president mainly because he issued the Emancipation Proclamation. He took definitive steps to end slavery, which is a big deal.
Because he got stuff done. Period.
He was an incredible leader who kept the Union together during the Civil War and made massive strides towards ending slavery. Not to mention, man could give a speech鈥擥ettysburg Address, anyone?
